North Charleston is the metro's second-largest city, spread across the neck of the peninsula and along the Ashley and Cooper rivers, a diverse mix of historic districts, mid-century neighborhoods, new development, the airport, the old Navy Yard, and major commercial and industrial corridors. Its scale and variety are a natural fit for Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of Charleston.
On time, every time, if there's any delay, it's you we pay, up to $300, backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. We're your Lowcountry plumbing team, owned and operated right here.
Every North Charleston home has access to our full range of plumbing services. The menu is the same across our entire Lowcountry service area, and each service links to the brand page with full details:
Around-the-clock emergency service dispatched for North Charleston homeowners facing burst pipes, sewer backups, water heater failures, and storm and tidal flooding, day or night, weekends and holidays.
Pipe repair and whole-home repiping, the Lowcountry's salt air and humidity corrode pipe from the outside in, and the region's older and historic homes often have aging galvanized, polybutylene, lead, and corroded copper worth replacing, plus water service line and leaking pipe repair.
Slab leak detection and repair and whole-home leak detection, many Lowcountry homes are built on slabs and raised slabs, and we locate and repair hidden leaks under the slab and behind walls before they cause damage.
Water heater repair, replacement, and installation, including tankless systems, a favorite in humidity-tight Lowcountry homes for endless hot water and a smaller footprint, plus recirculation for quick hot water.
Water filtration, softening, and treatment, municipal Charleston-area water is moderately soft surface water, but island and rural wells bring iron, sulfur odor, sediment, and salt intrusion, and many homeowners want cleaner, better-tasting water; a water test shows what your home needs.
Well pump and water pump service, for the many sea-island and rural-mainland homes on private wells, we install and repair well pumps, pressure tanks, and water pumps, paired with well-water treatment.
Septic and aerobic septic service, much of the Lowcountry outside city sewer is on septic, and the region's high water tables, tidal influence, and pluff-mud soils often call for aerobic systems; we install, service, and repair them and keep building lines flowing.
Drain cleaning and hydro jetting with camera inspection, clearing grease, sand, roots from the Lowcountry's grand live oaks, and buildup from sewer and septic lines.
Sewer line repair and replacement and sewer service, restoring aging sewer laterals, which corrode faster where saltwater and tidal flooding reach the pipes.
Sump pump and crawlspace drainage service, plus backflow and backwater protection, for the tidal “sunny-day” flooding, king tides, and hurricane rains that push water into low crawlspaces and yards across the Lowcountry.
Gas line installation and repair and gas pipe leak repair for tankless heaters, ranges, generators (a Lowcountry storm essential), fireplaces, and outdoor kitchens and grills.
Pool pump and pool leak service and pool leak detection, for the many Lowcountry backyard pools, we service pumps and lines and find hidden leaks.
Boiler service where present, plus faucets, toilets, showers, garbage disposals, and outdoor plumbing and corrosion-resistant hose bibs and outdoor showers built for the coast.
Commercial plumbing service for the restaurants, shops, offices, rentals, and hospitality businesses across Charleston and the Lowcountry.
North Charleston's range of housing shapes its plumbing. Its historic Park Circle and older neighborhoods often have aging galvanized and corroded copper pipe and old fixtures worth updating, its mid-century and newer areas need routine repair and remodels, and its many businesses need commercial plumbing. Most homes are on municipal water and sewer. Slab and crawlspace foundations make slab-leak detection important, and its low, riverside areas see flooding from heavy rain and high tides.
North Charleston homes are built on slabs and crawlspaces, as the Lowcountry makes standard, not basements, so slab-leak detection and crawlspace drainage matter. Summers are hot and humid; winters are mild with the rare hard freeze.
North Charleston's homes and businesses get our full range, galvanized and corroded-copper repiping, slab leak detection, water heater service, drain cleaning and hydro jetting, sewer repair and cleaning, water treatment, commercial plumbing, and storm and crawlspace water. Our team finishes most jobs in one visit.
we're the punctual plumbers, “if there's any delay, it's you we pay.” If we're not on time, we pay you $5 for every minute we're late, up to 60 minutes or $300, backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. See our guarantees.

fully licensed (SC license M114383) and insured, with plumbers answering the phone around the clock, vital when a pipe bursts, a storm floods, or a well quits.
North Charleston plumbing follows the Lowcountry calendar. Flush the water heater against sediment; before storm season, check drainage on low, riverside lots; watch for slab and yard-line leaks in the heat; and in older neighborhoods, watch aging galvanized and corroded copper.

Made appointment to pinpoint leak in shower head. Turned out it was the valve which needed replacing. Hugo was great. Ordered it and returned the following day to install. He also shared information about flushing out our tankless water heaters and addressing excessive pressure coming into the house. We are checking with the builder before we schedule those additional jobs to see if there is any warranty on our home.
Mark Katzman
Hugo came on time. Fixed problem.

Angi recommended Benjamin Franklin Plumbing with a 5-star rating. Repairman, Wilson did a great job. We had a leak in a waterline in the front yard. Excellent service. He was professional, knowledgeable, and worked in a timely manner. Afterwards, he cleaned up the work site and did a safety inspection. I would definitely recommend this company and Wilson 😃

★★★★★ Exceptional service from Ethan and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Lisbon! I called just before closing and they had someone out to my home first thing the next morning. Ethan was fantastic - very polite, professional, and efficient. Pricing was very upfront before any service was provided, so there were no surprises. The job was completed within an hour! Exceptional customer service from start to finish - I also spoke to the office manager and everybody was very polite. It’s GREAT to have and know this company is serving the North Country! Thank you! Highly recommend!

We were very blessed to have such an expert as Mike come to our house to troubleshoot our hot water heater. The man is a consummate professional, has decades of experience, knew exactly what he was doing, did what he needed to do, and we couldn't be more pleased to have had this absolute expert come to evaluate our water heater. As soon as we met him, we knew we were in good hands. He'll be back in 2 days to replace the hot water heater. Thank you so much!

Great! Andrew was friendly and knowledgeable. Came out an hour after I called and got my water line fixed up. He also let me know how to protect it from future problems. I'm a happy customer
Justin Faulkner
Great communication when trying to schedule and when in route. Answered my questions and explained options before starting. Completed the work, verified it was fixed and cleaned the area when he was done. (Kitchen sink clog - more than 25’ from the sink)
William Whitehouse
Justin did a great job unclogging my kitchen sink. I tried to do it myself and evidently it went up the vent at the T instead of going down into the clog. Hopefully it will not clogged again but if it does and I can't get it I will be calling again. This is the 2nd time I've used Ben Franklin Plumbing and am happy the the fast response and courtesy of the plumbers. I recommend Ben Franklin Plumbing to anyone I know needing a plumber.
