Most of San Clemente is served by the City of San Clemente's water utility, imported water from the Colorado River and Northern California, while the Talega community is served by the Santa Margarita Water District. Either way, the water is hard and mineral-heavy, so softeners and filtration are among the most valuable upgrades.
