The City of Winchester is an independent city and the historic heart of the region, home to the Old Town Walking Mall on Loudoun Street, the Apple Blossom Festival, and some of the oldest homes in Virginia. Founded in 1744, the city's character comes with character-rich plumbing, and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of Winchester knows these homes well.
We bring on-time, honest service to every Winchester City address, backed by our promise: if there's any delay, it's you we pay.
Every Winchester City home has access to our full range of plumbing services. The menu is the same across our entire Winchester and Frederick County service area, and each service links to the national brand page with full details:
Around-the-clock emergency service dispatched for Winchester City homeowners facing burst or frozen pipes, sewer or septic backups, well-pump failures, or no-water situations, day or night, weekends and holidays, with no after-hours fees.
Expert diagnosis and repair of leaks, fixtures, and supply problems, with our plumbers trained to resolve up to 90% of issues on the first visit.
Drain cleaning and hydro jetting with camera inspection to clear recurring clogs and find the real cause.
Water heater repair, replacement, and installation, including tankless systems, the Valley's hard water deposits scale that shortens a heater's life, so sizing and maintenance matter.
Sewer line repair and replacement, trenchless options, and septic service for the county's many septic-connected homes.
Pipe repair and whole-home repiping for aging galvanized and lead-era systems, plus frozen-pipe repair through cold Shenandoah Valley winters.
Non-destructive leak detection and hidden and slab leak repair that pinpoint basement, wall, and buried-line leaks before we cut into anything.
Water softeners and filtration for the limestone-hard water common across the Valley, plus iron and sulfur treatment for homes on private wells.
Well pump repair and replacement and pressure-tank service for the many Frederick County homes on private wells.
Gas line repair, replacement, and installation for ranges, water heaters, generators, and outdoor features.
Sump pump installation and repair, including battery backups and ejector pumps, to keep basements and crawlspaces dry through wet weather and snowmelt.
Faucets, toilets, sinks, and garbage disposals repaired and installed.
Commercial plumbing service for area businesses, restaurants, retail, and multi-family properties.
Winchester City runs its own water and sewer utilities, drawing water from the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. But the defining plumbing factor in the city is the age of its housing. Old Town and the historic neighborhoods are full of beautiful older homes that often carry the piping of their era. This includes galvanized steel that corrodes and restricts flow, cast-iron drains that rust from the inside, and, in the oldest homes, lead service lines or solder that are best replaced.
Repiping, water-line replacement, and sewer work are among the most common services we provide in the city, planned to protect original finishes. Even on city water, the Valley's hard water builds scale, so softeners and filtration remain valuable. And like everywhere here, hard winter freezes threaten the exposed runs that older homes so often have.
Older homes need a plumber who understands them. We plan repairs to protect original finishes, work cleanly with drop cloths and shoe covers, and explain everything in plain language before we begin. We offer up-front pricing and financing on larger jobs like repiping and lead-line replacement. Our commercial team also keeps Old Town's restaurants and shops running.
if there's any delay, it's you we pay, $5 for every minute we're late, up to $300. See our guarantees.
you approve every price before any work begins, no meter running, no surprises.
we stand behind our materials, labor, and craftsmanship.
we answer the phone around the clock, every day of the year, with no after-hours fees, vital during a hard freeze, a well-pump failure, or a backed-up septic line.
background-checked, drug-tested professionals with verified licensing, liability coverage, and workers' compensation.

Historic homes reward attention. If your water runs rusty, your pressure has faded, or you've had repeated leaks, those point toward aging galvanized or lead-era piping worth investigating before a failure. Recurring drain backups in these old neighborhoods often mean deteriorated sewer lines. And before winter, protect the exposed runs older city homes tend to have.

Made appointment to pinpoint leak in shower head. Turned out it was the valve which needed replacing. Hugo was great. Ordered it and returned the following day to install. He also shared information about flushing out our tankless water heaters and addressing excessive pressure coming into the house. We are checking with the builder before we schedule those additional jobs to see if there is any warranty on our home.
Mark Katzman
Hugo came on time. Fixed problem.

Angi recommended Benjamin Franklin Plumbing with a 5-star rating. Repairman, Wilson did a great job. We had a leak in a waterline in the front yard. Excellent service. He was professional, knowledgeable, and worked in a timely manner. Afterwards, he cleaned up the work site and did a safety inspection. I would definitely recommend this company and Wilson 😃

★★★★★ Exceptional service from Ethan and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Lisbon! I called just before closing and they had someone out to my home first thing the next morning. Ethan was fantastic - very polite, professional, and efficient. Pricing was very upfront before any service was provided, so there were no surprises. The job was completed within an hour! Exceptional customer service from start to finish - I also spoke to the office manager and everybody was very polite. It’s GREAT to have and know this company is serving the North Country! Thank you! Highly recommend!

We were very blessed to have such an expert as Mike come to our house to troubleshoot our hot water heater. The man is a consummate professional, has decades of experience, knew exactly what he was doing, did what he needed to do, and we couldn't be more pleased to have had this absolute expert come to evaluate our water heater. As soon as we met him, we knew we were in good hands. He'll be back in 2 days to replace the hot water heater. Thank you so much!

Great! Andrew was friendly and knowledgeable. Came out an hour after I called and got my water line fixed up. He also let me know how to protect it from future problems. I'm a happy customer
Justin Faulkner
Great communication when trying to schedule and when in route. Answered my questions and explained options before starting. Completed the work, verified it was fixed and cleaned the area when he was done. (Kitchen sink clog - more than 25’ from the sink)

Justin did a great job unclogging my kitchen sink. I tried to do it myself and evidently it went up the vent at the T instead of going down into the clog. Hopefully it will not clogged again but if it does and I can't get it I will be calling again. This is the 2nd time I've used Ben Franklin Plumbing and am happy the the fast response and courtesy of the plumbers. I recommend Ben Franklin Plumbing to anyone I know needing a plumber.
