Named Forbes' Top Ranked Plumbing Company of 2024!
Wedgewood is a golf-course community in Liberty Township with a Powell, Ohio mailing address (ZIP 43065). Wedgewood Golf & Country Club opened in 1991 with an 18-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, and the neighborhoods around it, including Wedgewood Park, Greens at Wedgewood, Wedgewood Place and Wedgewood Park Estates, have been building out ever since. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Delaware is based just up the road in Delaware.
We're The Punctual Plumber, and we put money on it. If we're late, we pay you $5 a minute, up to $300.
Wedgewood is a community of larger homes, many with finished basements, several bathrooms, irrigation systems and more than one water heater. Most of it was built from the 1990s onward, so a lot of original equipment is now 20 to 30 years old. Water heaters, sump pumps, pressure-reducing valves, supply lines and fixtures are the repeat calls here. With bigger homes comes bigger damage when something fails, so replacing a tired water heater or sump pump before it quits is worth it.
Wedgewood is served by the Delaware County Regional Sewer District, and Del-Co Water is the water provider for Powell and the surrounding area. Del-Co water is moderately hard, about 7 to 8 grains per gallon, and it leaves scale in water heaters, tankless units and fixtures over time. Central Ohio's clay soil drains slowly, so a clogged or collapsed downspout line can push water right back at the foundation.
Note that Wedgewood Hills and Wedgewood Glen are in Dublin, not here, and we serve them as well, as part of the wider area.
Wedgewood calls tend to be about aging first-generation equipment in large homes. Water heaters and sump pumps near the end of their service life. High water pressure wearing out fixtures and valves. Hard-water scale. That's why our techs test your water pressure and check the age of your water heater and sump pump on every visit. You get time to plan a replacement instead of scrambling when something quits. Our trucks are stocked, and most calls are fixed on the first visit.
Before the first hard freeze, disconnect your garden hoses, shut off and drain the outdoor faucets, and have your irrigation system winterized. Insulate any pipes in unheated spaces. Test the sump pump and its battery backup before the spring rain and snowmelt. Flush each water heater once a year to clear sediment and scale. If water pools near the foundation after a storm, have the buried downspouts checked.

I needed my 12-year-old water heater replaced soon and requested seven estimates. Two gave a verbal quote over the phone without seeing the job. I was not sure what I was getting or if they would add additional charges after they got the job. One was going to bring a water heater with them to replace it during the estimate process. One gave written quote that stated a price and description of “replace 50 gal water heater”. There were no details on the work to be completed. Benjiman Franklin Plumping’s estimate was the most complete on the work to be performed. Davy noticed issues with the current installation that was not to code that others missed. He spent the time explaining and answering my questions so I could understand what and why items were being done. Davy was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Although they were not the cheapest or the most expensive, they included everything to replace the water heater and bring in up to code within the estimate, with this I gave them the job. The installation was scheduled for the next day, Davy and Wilson arrived on time. The two worked well as a team completing the job beyond my expectations and to my satisfaction. The finished job looked so much better than the original installation. I am sure they are proud to be associated with their work. They cleaned up as they went so no mess was left behind. Job well done. Thanks Davy and Wilson

Brandon helped bring the pressure of our water down because it was way too high and added a filter to our ice maker so we don’t have so many calcifications in our ice! Brandon did a good job and was very nice. He cleaned up after himself and was always friendly. He was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had!

I have known the owner John for 15 years. He is very knowledgable about plumbing and can explain plumbing systems so well. He has given me great ideas and options when I am working on my house and I value his opinions and advice. Recently, I had a plumbing issue under the house and John took care of it. I am very happy with his work.

I’m gald to say that Benjamin Franklin in Palm Desert helped me install my water heater that failed. Luis and Hugo were very professional and kept the work area cleaned at all times even during the installation process. I highly recommend them for any plumbing needs in Coachella valley.

Most tank water heaters last 8 to 12 years, and hard water can cut that short. A lot of Wedgewood homes built in the 1990s and 2000s are already on their second or third water heater, and larger homes often have more than one. If yours is past 10 years old, rusting at the base or popping as it heats, have us look at it before it fails.
You don't have to have one. Del-Co water is moderately hard, though, and a softener cuts down on scale in water heaters, tankless units, dishwashers and fixtures. We'll test your water and tell you what makes sense.
Start with the sump pump. Make sure it works, and add a battery backup so it keeps running when a storm knocks the power out. Then look outside. Downspouts should carry water away from the house, and in our clay soil, clogged or collapsed underground downspout lines are a common reason basements get wet.
Somewhere between 40 and 60 PSI is typical. Higher than that, and faucets, toilet fill valves, water heaters and appliance hoses wear out faster. We test pressure on every visit and can replace a pressure-reducing valve that's failing.
Yes. Wedgewood Hills and Wedgewood Glen are on the Dublin side, and we serve homes in that part of the area too, along with Powell and the rest of the 43065 ZIP code.
