Named Forbes' Top Ranked Plumbing Company of 2024!
South Charleston is a quiet village in southern Clark County, surrounded by the rolling farmland of west-central Ohio along US 42. With its small-town core and rural surroundings, South Charleston has a plumbing profile built around wells, basements, and country homes, and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of Springfield and Urbana is proud to serve it.
On time, every time, if there's any delay, it's you we pay.
Every South Charleston home has access to our full range of plumbing services. The menu is the same across our entire Clark and Champaign County service area, and each service links to the national brand page with full details:
South Charleston blends village municipal water with surrounding rural properties on private wells, so water softeners and iron filtration for the hard groundwater, plus well-pump service, are frequent local needs. The village's full-basement homes need reliable sump pumps with battery backup against snowmelt and spring rains, and west-central Ohio's cold winters make frozen-pipe protection important.
South Charleston's housing ranges from older village homes that may need repiping of aging galvanized pipe to newer builds, while the surrounding countryside relies on wells and septic. Mature trees can send roots into older sewer lines, and being out among the farms makes prompt, single-visit service all the more valuable.
The village center along US 42 and Jamestown Street · Rural acreage and farmland surrounding the village · Properties toward Cedarville and South Vienna · The areas near Madison County · And the homes across South Charleston
South Charleston's village and country homes get our full range, softeners and well-pump service, sump pumps and frozen-pipe protection, repiping for older homes, and septic-aware drain work. Our stocked trucks finish most jobs in one trip, on time and with up-front pricing.
South Charleston's seasons set the schedule. If you're on a well, test your water periodically and keep treatment and the pressure tank maintained; before winter, insulate exposed pipes; before spring, test the sump pump and its backup. Flush the water heater yearly for the hard water.

I needed my 12-year-old water heater replaced soon and requested seven estimates. Two gave a verbal quote over the phone without seeing the job. I was not sure what I was getting or if they would add additional charges after they got the job. One was going to bring a water heater with them to replace it during the estimate process. One gave written quote that stated a price and description of “replace 50 gal water heater”. There were no details on the work to be completed. Benjiman Franklin Plumping’s estimate was the most complete on the work to be performed. Davy noticed issues with the current installation that was not to code that others missed. He spent the time explaining and answering my questions so I could understand what and why items were being done. Davy was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Although they were not the cheapest or the most expensive, they included everything to replace the water heater and bring in up to code within the estimate, with this I gave them the job. The installation was scheduled for the next day, Davy and Wilson arrived on time. The two worked well as a team completing the job beyond my expectations and to my satisfaction. The finished job looked so much better than the original installation. I am sure they are proud to be associated with their work. They cleaned up as they went so no mess was left behind. Job well done. Thanks Davy and Wilson

Brandon helped bring the pressure of our water down because it was way too high and added a filter to our ice maker so we don’t have so many calcifications in our ice! Brandon did a good job and was very nice. He cleaned up after himself and was always friendly. He was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had!

I have known the owner John for 15 years. He is very knowledgable about plumbing and can explain plumbing systems so well. He has given me great ideas and options when I am working on my house and I value his opinions and advice. Recently, I had a plumbing issue under the house and John took care of it. I am very happy with his work.

I’m gald to say that Benjamin Franklin in Palm Desert helped me install my water heater that failed. Luis and Hugo were very professional and kept the work area cleaned at all times even during the installation process. I highly recommend them for any plumbing needs in Coachella valley.

We had an old, barely functioning kitchen faucet replaced. The plumber (Brandon) was very professional and left the area very clean and dry. He also noticed some quirks in the plumbing in our 85 year old house (which also explained a water pressure issue we’d been having), letting us know what could be done to address it (& how much it might cost), should we choose to do something about.

Love them! On time, thorough, and informative. I tend to ask a lot of questions and they were more than happy to educate me. I’ve known the owner for over 15 years. Great guy. Ask for John.

Excellent service. Very timely and professional. Reasonable price
South Charleston has both, village municipal water and rural properties on private wells. We service both, including well pumps, pressure tanks, and treatment.
That usually means iron, common in the region's groundwater along with hardness. After a water test, we install the right softener and iron filtration.
A sump pump with battery backup, good drainage, and a backwater valve are the key defenses. We assess and install.
Yes. With septic common on the area's rural lots, we diagnose and resolve drain and waste-line issues with that system in mind.
Yes, around the clock, every day, with the On-Time Guarantee and no after-hours fees.
