Sandfly is a historic Lowcountry community near Isle of Hope, rooted in Gullah-Geechee heritage and now a growing crossroads of older homes, newer development, and local businesses along Skidaway Road. Its blend of historic and evolving housing makes it a natural fit for Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of Savannah Low Country.
On time, every time. If we're not on time, we pay you $5 a minute, up to $300.
Every Sandfly home has access to our full range of plumbing services. The menu is the same across our entire Savannah Lowcountry service area, and each service links to the national brand page with full details:
Around-the-clock emergency service dispatched for Sandfly homeowners facing burst or leaking pipes, sewer or septic backups, water heater failures, storm-related flooding, or no-water situations. We are available day or night, weekends and holidays.
Water softeners, filtration, and treatment for the Lowcountry's Floridan Aquifer water, addressing the hardness, iron, and sulfur “rotten-egg” odor and taste common in the region. It improves water quality and protects fixtures and appliances.
Pipe repair and whole-home repiping for aging galvanized, cast-iron, and 1980s–90s polybutylene systems and pipe worn by hard water and coastal, salt-air corrosion, plus water service line and leaking pipe repair.
We offer water heater repair, replacement, and installation, including tankless systems. Hard, mineral-rich Lowcountry water shortens water heater life, making flushing, replacement, and tankless upgrades popular.
Sewer line repair and replacement and trenchless options for the aging clay and cast-iron laterals that live-oak roots invade, often with minimal digging to protect marsh-front yards and historic landscaping.
Drain cleaning and hydro jetting with camera inspection, clearing grease, buildup, and the tree roots that reach into lines beneath the Lowcountry's moss-draped canopy.
Sump pump installation and repair for the region's high water table and flood-prone crawlspaces, plus well pump and water pump service for island and rural properties.
We offer non-destructive leak detection, leak repair, slab leak detection, and pool leak detection. We find hidden leaks under slabs, in crawlspaces, and in buried lines before they waste water or damage a home.
Outdoor plumbing and pool pump service for the hose bibs, irrigation, dock and waterfront lines, and outdoor showers common on Lowcountry and island properties.
Faucets, toilets, showers, sinks, bathtubs, and garbage disposals repaired and installed, ideal for the renovations common in the Lowcountry's historic and waterfront homes.
Commercial plumbing service for the shops, restaurants, offices, and marinas across Savannah's southside, midtown, and island communities.
Sandfly's mix of historic and newer homes shapes its plumbing. Its older homes, part of the community's Gullah-Geechee heritage, commonly carry aging galvanized, cast-iron, and lead-era pipe worth repiping. Newer development brings installation and fixture work. The region's Floridan Aquifer water is hard and prone to iron staining and a sulfur “rotten-egg” odor, so softening and iron/sulfur filtration are valuable. Coastal salt air adds to pipe and fixture wear.
Sandfly's homes sit on crawlspace, raised, and some slab foundations in the low coastal terrain, not basements. Crawlspace plumbing, moisture and sump management, and leak detection matter. The high water table and storm flooding make drainage a concern. The area's live oaks send roots into aging clay and cast-iron sewer laterals, making sewer replacement, trenchless work, and root removal frequent, and some homes may be on septic.
Sandfly's historic and newer homes get our full range. We offer iron and sulfur water treatment, repiping, water heater service, sewer and trenchless work, septic-aware service, sump work, and leak detection. Our stocked trucks finish most jobs in one visit.
If we're not on time, we pay you $5 for every minute we're late, up to 60 minutes or $300. See our guarantees.
You get a clear, detailed estimate before any work begins, no hidden fees, no surprise charges.
We stand behind our work with a warranty on both parts and labor, and back it with decades of nationwide Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® expertise.
We treat your home like our own, arriving in uniform, using drop cloths, and cleaning up completely before we leave.
Our vehicles stay stocked with parts, so we finish most plumbing services in a single visit.
We answer the phone around the clock, every day of the year, vital during a burst pipe, a sewer backup, or storm flooding on the coast.
Our crews are background-checked, drug-tested professionals, licensed in Georgia (Master Plumber GAMP208710). We have liability coverage and workers' compensation, and are backed by a brand named Forbes' Top Ranked Plumbing Company of 2024.
Sandfly plumbing follows the coastal calendar. Add softening and iron/sulfur filtration for hard-water taste and staining. Flush the water heater yearly. Before hurricane season, check drainage and sump pumps. Before the occasional winter freeze, insulate exposed and crawlspace pipes.

Made appointment to pinpoint leak in shower head. Turned out it was the valve which needed replacing. Hugo was great. Ordered it and returned the following day to install. He also shared information about flushing out our tankless water heaters and addressing excessive pressure coming into the house. We are checking with the builder before we schedule those additional jobs to see if there is any warranty on our home.
Mark Katzman
Hugo came on time. Fixed problem.

Angi recommended Benjamin Franklin Plumbing with a 5-star rating. Repairman, Wilson did a great job. We had a leak in a waterline in the front yard. Excellent service. He was professional, knowledgeable, and worked in a timely manner. Afterwards, he cleaned up the work site and did a safety inspection. I would definitely recommend this company and Wilson 😃

★★★★★ Exceptional service from Ethan and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Lisbon! I called just before closing and they had someone out to my home first thing the next morning. Ethan was fantastic - very polite, professional, and efficient. Pricing was very upfront before any service was provided, so there were no surprises. The job was completed within an hour! Exceptional customer service from start to finish - I also spoke to the office manager and everybody was very polite. It’s GREAT to have and know this company is serving the North Country! Thank you! Highly recommend!

We were very blessed to have such an expert as Mike come to our house to troubleshoot our hot water heater. The man is a consummate professional, has decades of experience, knew exactly what he was doing, did what he needed to do, and we couldn't be more pleased to have had this absolute expert come to evaluate our water heater. As soon as we met him, we knew we were in good hands. He'll be back in 2 days to replace the hot water heater. Thank you so much!

Great! Andrew was friendly and knowledgeable. Came out an hour after I called and got my water line fixed up. He also let me know how to protect it from future problems. I'm a happy customer
Justin Faulkner
Great communication when trying to schedule and when in route. Answered my questions and explained options before starting. Completed the work, verified it was fixed and cleaned the area when he was done. (Kitchen sink clog - more than 25’ from the sink)
William Whitehouse
Justin did a great job unclogging my kitchen sink. I tried to do it myself and evidently it went up the vent at the T instead of going down into the clog. Hopefully it will not clogged again but if it does and I can't get it I will be calling again. This is the 2nd time I've used Ben Franklin Plumbing and am happy the the fast response and courtesy of the plumbers. I recommend Ben Franklin Plumbing to anyone I know needing a plumber.

Jordan is amazing! He went out of his way to get the job done. Professional top-notch the best I’ve seen in a long time I would recommend and make sure you ask for Jordan.M
The region's Floridan Aquifer water, plus aging cast-iron mains, causes iron staining and a sulfur “rotten-egg” odor. A softener with iron/sulfur and carbon filtration fixes it. We test and install the right system.
Older homes here often have aging galvanized, cast-iron, or lead-era pipe. Repiping restores pressure and water quality. We inspect and recommend honestly, with care for a historic home.
Some homes are on septic. We provide septic-aware drain and sewer service, along with well-pump service where applicable.
Roots from the area's live oaks invade aging clay and cast-iron laterals. We camera-inspect, clear the line, and repair or replace it, often trenchlessly.
Yes. Our emergency plumbers answer around the clock, backed by the On-Time Guarantee.
