Old Metairie is the gracious, established heart of Metairie, affluent area of historic and custom homes, mature oaks, and tree-lined streets near the 17th Street Canal and the Orleans Parish line. Finer, older homes call for sophisticated, careful plumbing, and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of New Orleans brings the expertise to match.
On time, every time, premium service backed by our promise: if there's any delay, it's you we pay.
Every Old Metairie home has access to our full range of plumbing services. The menu is the same across our entire greater New Orleans service area, and each service links to the national brand page with full details:
Old Metairie's older and grander homes are the defining plumbing factor: many carry aging galvanized water lines, failing cast-iron drains, and lead-era service lines. That makes repiping, drain replacement, and lead service line replacement common and important under current federal lead-pipe rules. Served by Jefferson Parish's Mississippi River water, the area's concerns are structural and quality-of-finish, not hard-water treatment.
The settling delta soil shifts sewer and water lines and stresses both slab and raised foundations, making sewer line repair and slab leak detection frequent. The value of these homes also makes precise, non-destructive detection essential to protect finished living space. Proximity to the 17th Street Canal and a history of flooding make backwater valves and drainage important, and many homes are raised, putting plumbing in crawlspaces.

Old Metairie's fine, older homes reward experience and care. Repiping and lead service line replacement, precise slab and sewer leak detection, and flood protection are all delivered by a plumber who plans the work and protects your home's finishes. We bring that with white-glove, on-time service backed by our guarantees.
Old Metairie's older, higher-value homes reward proactive care. Watch for the rusty water and low pressure that signal aging galvanized or lead-era pipe, have the backwater valve and drainage checked before storm season. Watch for slab and sewer leaks as the soil settles. Protect exposed pipes during the occasional winter freeze.

Tanner was neat and very knowledgeable. He flushed the water heater, checked all toilets and sinks. We told him about a toilet issue and he was able to fix it while here saving us a fee. A very good company for your plumbing needs.

We have used Ben Franklin Plumbing for years. They are always prompt and professional. We had an issue with our water heater that they installed two years ago. When they arrived, we discovered it was only batteries that needed to be replaced on the water overflow sensor. They replaced the batteries (I now know to do it yearly) and didn't charge me for the service call. You don't get this type of service any more from most companies that provide home services. I highly recommend using Ben Franklin for all your plumbing needs.

Michael Mayes was extremely helpful in this process of replacing a sewer line fix. There team did a great job in fixing my problem and reassuring me everything was done correctly. They were very good at keeping and respecting my property's landscaping. I was very pleased with the whole process of the project they did.
