Norwalk may be home to landmarks like the Hargitt House Museum and the beautiful Norwalk Civic Center, but for homeowners here, it’s what’s happening inside the walls that often goes unnoticed…until there’s a problem. Hidden water leaks have a way of creeping in quietly and causing major headaches: warped floors, rising water bills, mysterious mold, or that dreaded musty smell you just can’t trace.
If you think something’s off but can’t quite put your finger on it, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Long Beach is here to help. We’ve worked in homes all across Norwalk, from charming older houses on Pioneer Blvd to newer builds near Bloomfield, and we know how to spot trouble before it turns costly. With expert tools and experienced technicians, we’ll find the source, fix it fast, and save you from chasing puddles or paying for damage that could’ve been prevented.
When it comes to water leaks, guessing isn’t good enough. You need fast, accurate answers without tearing your house apart in the process. That’s exactly what we deliver.
At Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Long Beach, we bring the right mix of high-tech tools and hands-on experience to every Norwalk home we visit. Whether you’ve got a soft spot in your drywall, a spike in your water bill, or a gut feeling something just isn’t right, we’ll track it down and walk you through the fix.
Here’s why locals trust us:
Leaks are stressful enough. Our job is to make everything after your call feel simple.
Some leaks are loud and obvious, while others quietly cause damage behind the scenes until it’s too late. The tricky ones are often hidden behind walls, under floors, or beneath slabs, slowly wasting water and weakening your home over time.
Here are a few signs that a leak might be lurking out of sight:
If you’re seeing or sensing any of these signs, don’t ignore them. A small leak now can lead to thousands in damage later.
Finding a leak shouldn’t feel like a demolition project and with us, it doesn’t. At Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Long Beach, we use advanced, non-invasive technology to locate leaks with precision. No wild guesses, no tearing up floors just to “take a look.” Our process is designed to save you time, stress, and money, because knowing where the leak is matters just as much as fixing it.
Here’s how it works:
We believe in fixing problems at the root, not just patching them up. When we leave, your home will be dry, safe, and leak-free, just the way it should be.

Dustin found a good spot to locate the water conditioner without needing lots of extra piping, and out of the way I'm my pantry. He was respectful, friendly and efficient. What I needed and had to search for was the serial # to register my purchase. I'm old school; would have appreciated some hardcopy info including serial number, filter changes, filter number, etc. I think that stuff all left with Dustin. I should have asked.

To keep your water heater running smoothly in Norwalk, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.
If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your Norwalk home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in Norwalk to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.
We are available 24/7 to take your call for emergencies. Our appointment hours are listed above.

Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your Norwalk home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.
Older homes in Norwalk often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.
To get your plumbing ready for winter in Norwalk, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.
Signs of a damaged sewer line in your home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
