McNeil is an established area on the northwest side of the Austin metro, near the Round Rock line along the old MoKan and MoPac corridors. It’s a mix of settled neighborhoods, business parks, and newer development where northwest Austin meets southern Williamson County. It's right in our backyard, and a natural fit for Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of North Austin.
On time, every time: if there's any delay, it's you we pay, $5 a minute up to $300. We're your Central Texas plumbing team, rated 4.8 stars across more than 1,300 reviews.
Every McNeil home has access to our full range of plumbing services. The menu is the same across our entire North Austin and Williamson County service area, and each service links to the brand page with full details:
Around-the-clock emergency service dispatched for McNeil homeowners facing burst pipes, severe leaks, sewer backups, water heater failures, and slab leaks. We are available day or night, weekends and holidays.
Water softeners, filtration, and whole-home treatment for the very hard limestone water that defines McNeil and Central Texas. The area's water is among the hardest in the country, which scales fixtures and pipes and shortens appliance life. Ask about our current water-softener and softener-plus-filtration offers. A water test shows exactly what your home needs.
We offer slab leak detection and repair and whole-home leak detection. Most McNeil homes sit on concrete slabs, and Central Texas's expansive clay shifts with wet/dry cycles, stressing the pipes beneath the slab. We pinpoint hidden leaks with advanced equipment and repair them before they undermine your foundation.
We can help with water heater repair, replacement, and installation, including tankless systems. Hard-water scale shortens heater life here (and many are in attics, where a failure floods the ceiling below), so flushing, replacement, and energy-efficient tankless upgrades are popular. Ask about our current tankless and water-heater offers.
Pipe repair and whole-home repiping, for older McNeil homes with aging or corroded pipe, and for leaking pipe and water line repair and replacement, in durable modern materials like PEX.
We also offer frozen pipe service. Central Texas mostly stays mild, but a hard freeze (like February 2021) can burst exposed and attic pipes. We thaw, repair, and help you protect vulnerable lines before the next cold snap.
Drain cleaning and hydro jetting with camera inspection, clearing grease, scale, and the roots that invade lines under Central Texas's mature shade trees.
Sewer line repair and replacement and trenchless sewers, diagnosing odors, slow drains, and yard wet-spots and restoring sewer lines, including the cast iron in older homes, often without digging up the whole yard.
Plumbing installation and repair, in some of the fastest-growing communities in Texas. We handle fixture upgrades, remodels, and installations, from faucets and sinks to toilets, showers, and garbage disposals.
Gas line installation and repair for water heaters, ranges, pool heaters, fireplaces, generators, and outdoor kitchens, plus outdoor plumbing and hose bibs built for the Texas heat.
Commercial plumbing service for the shops, offices, restaurants, and businesses growing across McNeil and the greater Austin area.
The McNeil area's northwest-metro location shapes its plumbing. Sitting near the Balcones transition, many homes here are on the Edwards Plateau side. It has a thin soil over shallow limestone and rock, which brings differential foundation support, slope drainage, and rocky digging rather than the deep clay cycling of the eastern prairie, though pockets of clay still cause slab movement. Central Texas's very hard limestone water scales fixtures and shortens water heater life throughout, so softening and filtration are popular. Older homes may have aging pipe worth repiping.
McNeil-area homes are built on concrete slabs over limestone and rock (with some clay), as Central Texas makes standard, not basements. Slab-leak detection and under-slab work matter, and the rocky ground can make digging harder. Summers are long and hot. Winters are mild but bring occasional hard freezes (like February 2021) that burst exposed and attic pipes.
McNeil-area homes get our full range. We offer very hard water softening and filtration, slab leak detection and repair, water heater and tankless service, PEX repiping, drain cleaning, sewer and trenchless work, gas lines, and frozen-pipe service. Our 4.8-star team finishes most jobs in one visit, with upfront pricing.
We're the punctual plumbers. “If there's any delay, it's you we pay!” If we're not on time, we pay you $5 for every minute we're late, up to 60 minutes or $300. See our guarantees.
Austin-area homeowners rate us 4.8 stars across more than 1,300 reviews. They praise plumbers like Timothy, Scott, Mickey, and Dave who arrive on time, explain the work clearly, protect the home, and get it done right.
Ask about our current offers, including money off tankless water heaters, water softeners, and softener-plus-filtration systems, and off any service or repair, perfect for Central Texas's hard-water homes.
We are locally owned and operated, serving the greater Austin area from Cedar Park. We have the tools and resources of a national brand named Forbes' Top Ranked Plumbing Company of 2024, the best of both worlds.
Our technicians explain the problem and give upfront pricing before any work begins, no hidden fees, backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. Financing and a Club Membership are available.
From very hard limestone water and Blackland-clay slab leaks to new-construction plumbing and tankless upgrades, we know the plumbing challenges of fast-growing McNeil.

McNeil-area plumbing follows the Central Texas calendar. Have your very hard water tested and add a softener or softener-plus-filtration system. Watch for slab-leak signs. Before a hard freeze, wrap exposed and attic pipes. Flush the water heater once a year to clear scale.

Made appointment to pinpoint leak in shower head. Turned out it was the valve which needed replacing. Hugo was great. Ordered it and returned the following day to install. He also shared information about flushing out our tankless water heaters and addressing excessive pressure coming into the house. We are checking with the builder before we schedule those additional jobs to see if there is any warranty on our home.
Mark Katzman
Hugo came on time. Fixed problem.

Angi recommended Benjamin Franklin Plumbing with a 5-star rating. Repairman, Wilson did a great job. We had a leak in a waterline in the front yard. Excellent service. He was professional, knowledgeable, and worked in a timely manner. Afterwards, he cleaned up the work site and did a safety inspection. I would definitely recommend this company and Wilson 😃

★★★★★ Exceptional service from Ethan and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Lisbon! I called just before closing and they had someone out to my home first thing the next morning. Ethan was fantastic - very polite, professional, and efficient. Pricing was very upfront before any service was provided, so there were no surprises. The job was completed within an hour! Exceptional customer service from start to finish - I also spoke to the office manager and everybody was very polite. It’s GREAT to have and know this company is serving the North Country! Thank you! Highly recommend!

We were very blessed to have such an expert as Mike come to our house to troubleshoot our hot water heater. The man is a consummate professional, has decades of experience, knew exactly what he was doing, did what he needed to do, and we couldn't be more pleased to have had this absolute expert come to evaluate our water heater. As soon as we met him, we knew we were in good hands. He'll be back in 2 days to replace the hot water heater. Thank you so much!

Great! Andrew was friendly and knowledgeable. Came out an hour after I called and got my water line fixed up. He also let me know how to protect it from future problems. I'm a happy customer
Justin Faulkner
Great communication when trying to schedule and when in route. Answered my questions and explained options before starting. Completed the work, verified it was fixed and cleaned the area when he was done. (Kitchen sink clog - more than 25’ from the sink)
William Whitehouse
Justin did a great job unclogging my kitchen sink. I tried to do it myself and evidently it went up the vent at the T instead of going down into the clog. Hopefully it will not clogged again but if it does and I can't get it I will be calling again. This is the 2nd time I've used Ben Franklin Plumbing and am happy the the fast response and courtesy of the plumbers. I recommend Ben Franklin Plumbing to anyone I know needing a plumber.

Jordan is amazing! He went out of his way to get the job done. Professional top-notch the best I’ve seen in a long time I would recommend and make sure you ask for Jordan.M
Yes. Central Texas limestone loads the water with calcium and magnesium, among the hardest in the country. A softener, often paired with filtration, protects fixtures and your water heater. We'll test and size a system.
It can be. The limestone-and-rock ground on the northwest side can slow excavation, but our crews are equipped for it, and trenchless options often reduce digging for sewer work.
Yes. Even on the limestone side, homes on concrete slabs (with some clay pockets) can see movement that stresses the pipes beneath. We locate and repair slab leaks with acoustic and pressure testing.
Tankless is popular here for endless hot water and efficiency, and we offer current savings. Because hard water scales any heater, we'll also talk through softening. We install and service both types.
Yes. Our plumbers answer around the clock, every day, backed by our On-Time and 100% satisfaction guarantees.
