Martindale is a small, historic town southeast of San Marcos, set along the San Marcos River near the Caldwell and Guadalupe county lines. It's a quiet, rural community of country homes, farmland, riverfront property, and a picturesque old downtown. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of San Marcos is glad to make the drive out to Martindale.
On time, every time: if we're not on time, we pay you $5 for every minute we're late, up to $300, backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. We're your veteran-owned, locally operated Central Texas plumbing team, rated 5 stars.
Every Martindale home has access to our full range of plumbing services. The menu is the same across our entire San Marcos and I-35 corridor service area, and each service links to the brand page with full details:
Around-the-clock emergency service for Martindale homeowners facing burst pipes, severe leaks, sewer backups, water heater failures, and slab leaks. We answer the phone day or night.
Water softeners, filtration, and treatment plus well and water pump service and pressure tanks for the many rural homes around Martindale on private wells. Central Texas well water runs very hard and can carry iron and sediment, so we test the water and install the right softener, filtration, and treatment.
We offer slab leak detection and repair and whole-home leak detection (including smart leak-detection and automatic shut-off devices). Most Martindale homes sit on concrete slabs, and Central Texas's expansive Blackland clay shifts with wet/dry cycles, stressing the pipes beneath the slab. We pinpoint hidden leaks with advanced equipment and repair them before they undermine your foundation.
Water heater repair, replacement, and installation, including tankless systems, hard-water scale shortens heater life here, so flushing, replacement, and energy-efficient tankless upgrades are popular. Ask about our free water-heater inspection and current installation offers (including a discount for military and first responders).
Pipe repair and whole-home repiping, for older Martindale homes with aging or corroded pipe, and for leaking pipe and water line repair and replacement, in durable modern materials like PEX. This also covers burst and frozen-pipe repair after a hard Central Texas freeze.
Sewer line repair and sewer line replacement with camera inspection, diagnosing odors, slow drains, root intrusion, and yard wet-spots and restoring sewer lines, including the cast iron in older homes.
Drain cleaning and hydro jetting with camera inspection, clearing grease, scale, and the roots that invade lines under Central Texas's mature shade trees.
We offer plumbing installation and repair. In some of the fastest-growing communities in Texas, we handle fixture upgrades, remodels, and installations, from faucets and sinks to toilets, showers, and garbage disposals.
Outdoor plumbing and hose bibs built for the Texas heat, plus yard-line and irrigation-supply repairs for Martindale homes.
Martindale's rural, river-country setting shapes its plumbing. Many homes here are on private wells and septic systems. Well and pressure-tank service, well-water treatment, and septic-aware drain and sewer service are core, everyday needs. Central Texas well water runs very hard and can carry iron and sediment, so softening and filtration are often necessary. Its farmhouses, country homes, and riverfront properties may have aging pipe worth repiping. Homes on concrete slabs over the area's expansive Blackland and river-bottom soils still see slab leaks and foundation movement.
Martindale homes are built on concrete slabs over expansive Central Texas clay, as the region makes standard, not basements. Slab-leak detection and foundation watering matter, alongside well and septic service. Riverfront and low-lying properties add outdoor and yard-line plumbing. Summers are long and hot. Winters are mild but bring occasional hard freezes that burst exposed pipes and stress outbuildings and long service runs.
Martindale's rural and riverfront homes get our full range. We offer well-water treatment and softening, well and pressure-tank service, septic-aware drain and sewer work, slab leak detection, repiping, water heater and tankless service, and outdoor plumbing. We do it all from a stocked truck that finishes most jobs in one trip, which matters out in the country.
We're the punctual plumbers. If we're not on time, we pay you $5 for every minute we're late, up to 60 minutes or $300, backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. See our guarantees.

Made appointment to pinpoint leak in shower head. Turned out it was the valve which needed replacing. Hugo was great. Ordered it and returned the following day to install. He also shared information about flushing out our tankless water heaters and addressing excessive pressure coming into the house. We are checking with the builder before we schedule those additional jobs to see if there is any warranty on our home.
Mark Katzman
Hugo came on time. Fixed problem.

Angi recommended Benjamin Franklin Plumbing with a 5-star rating. Repairman, Wilson did a great job. We had a leak in a waterline in the front yard. Excellent service. He was professional, knowledgeable, and worked in a timely manner. Afterwards, he cleaned up the work site and did a safety inspection. I would definitely recommend this company and Wilson 😃

★★★★★ Exceptional service from Ethan and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Lisbon! I called just before closing and they had someone out to my home first thing the next morning. Ethan was fantastic - very polite, professional, and efficient. Pricing was very upfront before any service was provided, so there were no surprises. The job was completed within an hour! Exceptional customer service from start to finish - I also spoke to the office manager and everybody was very polite. It’s GREAT to have and know this company is serving the North Country! Thank you! Highly recommend!

We were very blessed to have such an expert as Mike come to our house to troubleshoot our hot water heater. The man is a consummate professional, has decades of experience, knew exactly what he was doing, did what he needed to do, and we couldn't be more pleased to have had this absolute expert come to evaluate our water heater. As soon as we met him, we knew we were in good hands. He'll be back in 2 days to replace the hot water heater. Thank you so much!

Great! Andrew was friendly and knowledgeable. Came out an hour after I called and got my water line fixed up. He also let me know how to protect it from future problems. I'm a happy customer
Justin Faulkner
Great communication when trying to schedule and when in route. Answered my questions and explained options before starting. Completed the work, verified it was fixed and cleaned the area when he was done. (Kitchen sink clog - more than 25’ from the sink)
William Whitehouse
Justin did a great job unclogging my kitchen sink. I tried to do it myself and evidently it went up the vent at the T instead of going down into the clog. Hopefully it will not clogged again but if it does and I can't get it I will be calling again. This is the 2nd time I've used Ben Franklin Plumbing and am happy the the fast response and courtesy of the plumbers. I recommend Ben Franklin Plumbing to anyone I know needing a plumber.
