Named Forbes' Top Ranked Plumbing Company of 2024!
Lakeview is one of New Orleans' most distinctive neighborhoods, an attractive area near Lake Pontchartrain that was devastated by the 17th Street Canal levee breach in Hurricane Katrina and has since been almost entirely rebuilt. That mix of newer, rebuilt homes on the same old settling soil gives Lakeview a plumbing story all its own, and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of New Orleans serves it on time, every time.
On time, every time: if there's any delay, it's you we pay.
Every Lakeview home has access to our full range of plumbing services. The menu is the same across our entire greater New Orleans service area, and each service links to the national brand page with full details:
Lakeview's homes are largely newer construction, rebuilt since 2006, with modern plumbing. However, they sit on the same soft, settling delta soil as the rest of the city, so subsidence still shifts the ground beneath them, stressing sewer and water lines and contributing to slab leaks even in relatively new homes. Served by the Sewerage & Water Board's Mississippi River water, the neighborhood's plumbing concerns lean structural and flood-related rather than toward hard-water treatment.
Memories of catastrophic flooding make flood protection a priority here: backwater valves to stop sewer backups, good drainage, and water heaters often installed elevated or in attics. Many rebuilt homes are raised, putting plumbing in crawlspaces, and the proximity to the lake and canals keeps storm readiness top of mind. We help Lakeview homeowners protect the homes they've worked hard to rebuild.

Lakeview's rebuilt homes deserve a plumber who understands both their newer systems and the settling soil beneath them: slab leak detection, sewer line service, and flood protection that safeguard a hard-won rebuild. We arrive on time and resolve most calls on the first visit.
In Lakeview, storm readiness leads the calendar. Before hurricane season, have your backwater valve, drainage, and any sump checked, and confirm your water heater is elevated or protected. Watch year-round for slab-leak signs as the soil settles. Protect exposed pipes during the occasional winter freeze.

Tanner was neat and very knowledgeable. He flushed the water heater, checked all toilets and sinks. We told him about a toilet issue and he was able to fix it while here saving us a fee. A very good company for your plumbing needs.

We have used Ben Franklin Plumbing for years. They are always prompt and professional. We had an issue with our water heater that they installed two years ago. When they arrived, we discovered it was only batteries that needed to be replaced on the water overflow sensor. They replaced the batteries (I now know to do it yearly) and didn't charge me for the service call. You don't get this type of service any more from most companies that provide home services. I highly recommend using Ben Franklin for all your plumbing needs.

Michael Mayes was extremely helpful in this process of replacing a sewer line fix. There team did a great job in fixing my problem and reassuring me everything was done correctly. They were very good at keeping and respecting my property's landscaping. I was very pleased with the whole process of the project they did.

Eric is very knowledgeable and gave me preventative tips. He gave me a few suggestions and quotes to help maintain a working plumbing system. Eric is a very nice person and a valued employee. Should I have any future issues (I hope not) I would like to request Eric to assist. Thank you, Norma Lang
Even newer homes sit on settling delta soil that shifts and stresses pipes, and slab foundations can develop slab leaks. We pinpoint and resolve these with non-destructive detection and targeted repairs.
A backwater valve plus good drainage is the key defense, and keeping your water heater elevated helps. We assess your home and recommend the right protection.
Warm floor spots, the sound of running water, or unexplained high bills can signal one. We use non-destructive detection to find slab leaks and recommend the best repair.
