Named Forbes' Top Ranked Plumbing Company of 2024!
Jefferson, often called Old Jefferson, is an established unincorporated community in Jefferson Parish between Metairie and the Mississippi River, near Harahan and the Huey P. Long Bridge. Its settled, older neighborhoods give it a familiar New Orleans-area plumbing profile, and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of New Orleans serves it on time, every time.
On time, every time: if there's any delay, it's you we pay.
Every Jefferson home has access to our full range of plumbing services. The menu is the same across our entire greater New Orleans service area, and each service links to the national brand page with full details:
Jefferson is served by Jefferson Parish's Mississippi River water, moderately hard, with softeners available, but its plumbing concerns are largely structural. Built on settling delta soil, the area's homes face the subsidence that shifts sewer and water lines and contributes to slab leaks. That makes sewer line repair and slab leak detection common calls, while older homes may need repiping of aging galvanized lines and cast-iron drains.
Sitting between Metairie and the river, Jefferson's lower areas can face drainage and flooding challenges in heavy rain, so backwater valves and good drainage matter. Some homes are also raised, with plumbing in crawlspaces. The mix of older and mid-century homes means we work across a range of systems, and the occasional hard freeze can threaten exposed pipes.

Jefferson's settled, older neighborhoods fit our full range: sewer line repair, slab leak detection, repiping for older homes, and flood protection where needed. Our stocked trucks resolve most calls on the first visit, on time and with up-front pricing.
Jefferson's seasons set the schedule. Before heavy-rain and hurricane season, check drainage and any backwater valve to prevent sewer backups. Watch year-round for slab leaks and sewer issues as the soil settles. Protect exposed pipes during the occasional winter freeze.

Tanner was neat and very knowledgeable. He flushed the water heater, checked all toilets and sinks. We told him about a toilet issue and he was able to fix it while here saving us a fee. A very good company for your plumbing needs.

We have used Ben Franklin Plumbing for years. They are always prompt and professional. We had an issue with our water heater that they installed two years ago. When they arrived, we discovered it was only batteries that needed to be replaced on the water overflow sensor. They replaced the batteries (I now know to do it yearly) and didn't charge me for the service call. You don't get this type of service any more from most companies that provide home services. I highly recommend using Ben Franklin for all your plumbing needs.

They were very good at keeping and respecting my property's landscaping. I was very pleased with the whole process of the project they did.

Eric is very knowledgeable and gave me preventative tips. He gave me a few suggestions and quotes to help maintain a working plumbing system. Eric is a very nice person and a valued employee. Should I have any future issues (I hope not) I would like to request Eric to assist. Thank you, Norma Lang
Settling delta soil shifts and stresses sewer and water lines and the pipes within slabs, causing breaks and slab leaks. We camera-inspect, pinpoint, and repair, using trenchless methods where possible.
If it has corroding galvanized water lines or failing cast-iron drains, repiping is a lasting fix. We inspect and recommend honestly.
A backwater valve and good drainage are the key defenses when the parish system is overwhelmed. We assess and install.
