Named Forbes' Top Ranked Plumbing Company of 2024!
Fair Oaks is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Cobb County, situated in the western portion of the county near South Cobb Drive, with a population of approximately 9,000 residents. The community is served by Fair Oaks Park — a well-used recreational space with a community center, athletic facilities, and a community garden — and borders the Chattahoochee River corridor to the east. Fair Oaks has a diverse residential character, with a mix of older ranch-style homes and established single-family neighborhoods that reflect the community's development from the 1950s through the 1980s.
Fair Oaks' housing stock is predominantly from the 1950s through the 1980s, making it one of the older residential communities in Cobb County from a plumbing service perspective. Homes from the 1950s and 1960s may have original galvanized steel supply lines, which corrode from the inside out over decades and progressively restrict water flow throughout the home. By the time galvanized corrosion produces visible symptoms — rust-tinged water, noticeably reduced pressure at fixtures, or frequent clogs in the main line — the pipes are typically in advanced decline and replacement is the appropriate solution rather than repair.
Homes from the 1970s and 1980s are more likely to have copper supply lines, which become susceptible to age-related pitting corrosion as they pass the 30-to-50-year mark. Pinhole leaks and slab leaks are a documented regional pattern in Cobb County's older copper systems, and Fair Oaks' older housing stock is firmly in the affected age range.
Drain cleaning is one of the most frequent service calls we handle in Fair Oaks. Older homes with cast iron or clay drain lines accumulate grease, scale, and root intrusion over decades in ways that standard DIY methods cannot address. Hydrojetting — high-pressure water that scours the interior of the drain line — and camera inspection are the appropriate tools for persistent or recurring drain issues in homes of this age.

Keith came promptly, worked quickly but we paid $709 for a water shutoff, and a small piece of PVC pipe under our sink that took 40 minutes to do. $210 of that was because it was an emergency visit.

Chase was exceptional!! Jared was so helpful as well!! This company came out to check our heating and cooling systems, clean our hot water heater, and patiently answered a bunch of our plumbing and duct-cleaning questions. As owners of an aging home, we truly trust them and deeply value their expert opinions on what updates we need. The level of professionalism cannot be surpassed! From wearing booties so they don’t drag dirt into the house to sending texts with pictures of the technicians before they arrive, every detail made us feel safe and cared for. We trust them completely with our home, will definitely continue doing business with them, and are already recommending them to all our friends. They are simply the best in the area!

The service was timely and professional. I really appreciate that Chuck treated my home with respect. He not only wiped his feet, but he put on booties to protect my floors. He did a thorough inspection before he gave me the estimate for the service needed. Because of his courteous explanation of what was needed to get the job done correctly, I would highly recommend him.

Galvanized steel pipe is a dull gray-silver color and magnetic — a magnet will stick to it, which is the easiest field test. It typically has threaded fittings at joints rather than soldered copper connections. If your home was built before 1970 and the original plumbing has never been replaced, there is a reasonable chance galvanized steel is present somewhere in the system. The most common symptoms of galvanized corrosion in advanced stages are rust-colored or brownish water at the tap (especially after the water has sat in the pipes), noticeably reduced flow at multiple fixtures throughout the home, and frequent or recurring blockages in the main line. A plumbing assessment will identify the pipe material accurately and tell you the condition of what you're working with.
Recurring drain backups in an older Fair Oaks home that don't respond to store-bought drain cleaners almost always indicate a structural issue rather than a simple clog. The most common causes in homes of this age are tree root intrusion into the main drain line, accumulated grease and scale buildup inside cast iron lines that has narrowed the pipe interior over decades, or offset or collapsed sections in older clay drain lines. Chemical drain cleaners address surface blockages but cannot remove roots, break through decades of cast iron scale, or repair structural damage. Sewer camera inspection is the most accurate diagnostic tool — it shows exactly what is happening inside the line so we can recommend the right repair rather than a temporary fix.
Yes. Water heater repair and replacement is one of our most common service calls throughout Fair Oaks and the surrounding Cobb County area.
