Concord Township was formed in 1819 in the southwest corner of Delaware County, and the Scioto River runs right through it. Bellepoint, at the north end, was platted in 1835. In 1925 the O'Shaughnessy Dam was finished on the township's southern edge, creating the reservoir that still supplies drinking water to Columbus. Today about 11,200 people live in Concord, from farm country along US 42 to golf course neighborhoods near the reservoir. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Delaware serves the whole township, Bellepoint to Scioto Reserve.

Concord is a township of two halves. The south and center filled in during the 2000s and 2010s with planned communities like Scioto Reserve and Tartan Fields. Census estimates put the township's median home at about 2005, and about two-thirds of homes were built since 2000. The north and west remain rural, with homes on lots of an acre and a half or more.
Del-Co Water supplies the township, and Del-Co water runs about 7 to 8 grains per gallon of hardness. Sewer is less uniform. The township's planning documents say most homes use on-site septic. Some subdivisions, including Scioto Reserve and Tartan Fields, are served by small county treatment plants that reuse treated water to irrigate the golf courses. The plan also notes that much of Concord's soil drains slowly or sits over shallow bedrock, which is tough on septic systems and buried drain lines. Knowing which system you have shapes how we handle a backup.
In Concord, the same symptom can mean different things on different streets. A slow basement drain in Scioto Reserve points us toward the house drain and sewer lateral. The same slow drain on a rural lot near Bellepoint could be the line to the septic tank. Our plumbers start by asking how your home is set up, then use a camera to see the problem before recommending a fix. You see the price and approve it before we begin.
Fall is the time to drain hose bibs and shut off outdoor faucets. If you're on septic, keep grease, wipes and other solids out of the drains year-round. They're hard on both the drain line and the tank. Test the sump pump before spring rains, when the slow-draining soil holds water against foundations. Flush the water heater once a year to clear out scale.

It depends on your neighborhood. Many rural homes use septic, while communities like Scioto Reserve and Tartan Fields are on county treatment systems. If you're not sure, your property records or the county can tell you, and we can help on a visit.
No. The reservoir supplies the City of Columbus. Concord Township homes get their water from Del-Co Water.
Yes. We camera the line, clear it or replace damaged sections. If the problem is in the tank or the leach field, we'll tell you and point you to a septic contractor.
Del-Co water is moderately hard. A softener reduces scale in water heaters, fixtures and appliances. We'll test your water and tell you if it makes sense for your home.
Yes. We serve all of Concord Township, whether your mailing address says Delaware, Powell or Dublin.
