We discovered we had a slab leak due to copper corrosion just a few days before we were going out of town on vacation. Worked with Ben Franklin Plumbing to do a whole house repipe. They also installed a new water heater, and added a recirculating hot water system within the same project, so now we aren’t always waiting forever for the hot water to get to our shower. Everything was handled very professionally and the process went very smoothly. Our project manager Mike was great, got everything done while we were already out of town and communicated the whole process with us while we were away. Even got us in touch with a water mitigation company to help dry things out after the leak. Unfortunately for us, once we got home, we had some paneling removed under our bathtub to get the inspection done, we discovered that our shower pan had a leak. Not Ben Franklin’s fault, just an unfortunate pre-existing issue that got revealed during the repipe. Our project manager graciously came by to take a look at the leak, do a flood test on the shower, and identify the source of the water leak. He got us in touch with a water mitigation company again and helped us document the issue for insurance. I’m pretty sure he even picked up some trash at the end of our driveway from the neighborhood raccoons getting into our bins. I had seen it and planned to go get it after our appointment, but when I went outside it was just gone. Was not expecting someone to go above and beyond to that level and was very impressed.

Elisha installed multiple toilets in four units of our condominium. He did a thorough job handling the removal of the old toilets and installation of the new toilets. He cleaned up the toilet rooms after each installation and left the rooms in prime condition. Before leaving, he tested them to verify the toilets worked as promised. Highly recommend him and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for any plumbing needs.

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is my go-to for any plumbing need. I have utilized their services several times, and each time the experience has been excellent. Jacob is very professional, knowledgable, takes the time to explain what he is doing, and answers my questions. I could not be happier with the service I have received.
To keep your water heater running smoothly in 1st Ward, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.
If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your 1st Ward home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in 1st Ward to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.
We are available 24/7 to take your call for emergencies. Our appointment hours are listed above.
For most homes in 1st Ward, scheduling professional drain cleaning once a year helps prevent clogs, odors, and costly backups. If your property has older pipes, large trees nearby, or frequent slow drains, you may need service more often. Regular maintenance keeps your plumbing flowing smoothly and protects your home from unexpected issues.
We work built relationships with several lenders to ensure our customers are able to restore functionality in their homes. Ask your technician about your financing options.
Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your 1st Ward home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.
Older homes in 1st Ward often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.
To get your plumbing ready for winter in 1st Ward, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.
Signs of a damaged sewer line in your home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
