Great job from Leo. Thank you.

Never a convenient time when water pipe breakages happen! Monday evening on a holiday. I called Benjamin Franklin at 9:20 pm with an emergency call. Tom K. was the service tech assigned. He contacted me within 30 minutes of my call to let me know he was enroute. He showed up well presented, clean cut and in uniform. Very well mannered, professional, and knowledgeable. After I explained what happened and the action I had taken, he explained my options. He was thorough and made sure I understood everything. We decided on the least costly option knowing that after he opened a small hole in the drywall would determine whether I would have a larger problem or not. Fortunately for me it was not the worse case scenario and it was something Tom could fix. He was finished within a couple hours and I had water again. I cannot express enough, my gratitude for Tom K. and Benjamin Franklin. I will not hesitate to contact them for any future plumbing repairs and/or new installations.

Called for an estimate and they had a tech out to my house within 20 minutes on a Friday afternoon. Michael looked at the hot water heater (why I called) and did a free home inspection while he was there. He was quick and explained everything and answered my questions. They scheduled me for Monday, and Michael came back out to replace my hot water heater and fix my bathtub handles and faucets that were leaking. Whoever had done my repairs before hadn’t used the correct parts, making the work a little more difficult than expected, but Michael got the correct parts needed and got the job done! The pricing was reasonable, much less than other places I had gotten quotes from (one wanted $1000 more!), and the estimate was free which is harder to find nowadays! Several other places wanted to charge $50-$75 just to come look at it. I’m glad I found Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. I will definitely use them again should I need anything else and I recommend you use them as well! Michael was phenomenal and took the time to answer my questions and explain everything in a way that made sense!

We were out of town when water pipe broke. The man came checked pipes & told my husband what was going on & put our mind at ease. We have been very happy with this company. He will be returning to do more work for us.

Patrick Locklear was very professional, considerate of our home (wore shoes covers), offered to help clean up water from burst pipe. I'm disappointed in the Field manager Ronnie Lee, he gave my mother his card and if she have any more problems to call him. Of course we called him multiple times and he never returned our call. But when Patrick called him he responded to his call. Mr.Lee and the first technician (Michael) admitted it could've been done better the first time but said it should work. Of course it didn't work and my 78 year old mother place flooded again for the third time. Before Patrick started the repairs, he tells us, if something happens to the repairs again the 2 year warranty maybe voided unless we let them re-pipe the entire house. This may cause over $9,000. Imagine how that made my 78 years old mother felt. Mr. Ronnie Lee, please do better when looking out for your customers.

Leonard was very professional and knowledgeable; he performed exceptionally well and addressed all of my inquiries.

Signs of Plumbing Problems

As a homeowner, there will be times when plumbing problems happen. The best way to avoid a catastrophic plumbing event is to pay attention to signs of a small problem that may become a large one very quickly. If any of these situations arise, call us right away:

Slow Draining

Your sink or shower may be slow to drain periodically. That may denote hair clogs or soap build-up you can’t take care of yourself. If all of the drains in your home begin to drain slowly, you may have a bigger problem. If there is a clog in the main sewer line, this is considered an emergency and needs to be looked at immediately by one of our expert plumbers.

Low Water Pressure

Low water pressure may happen occasionally, but if it is consistent and accompanied by other signs, there is a problem that needs an expert plumber. Do you have low water pressure that coincides with discolored water, an exceptionally high water bill, or signs of water damage inside the walls? If so, you have a problem we must address quickly to avoid major damage.

Unexplained Water Pooling

If there is a spot in your yard that seems to be wet no matter what, there may be an underlying issue. This could be leaking or collapsed sewer lines that can continue to create bigger problems the longer it is left unattended.

Noisy Water Pipes

If there is a noise that resembles screeching when you turn your water on, that indicates that there may be air in your pipes. If there is air in your pipes, the air must enter an opening somewhere. Noisy pipes may indicate a faulty plumbing system, and an expert plumber must diagnose that issue.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance of your plumbing structures can help alleviate many emergencies with small repairs that become larger ones. Relying on professional plumbers to perform inspections regularly allows for issues to be taken care of before they become a problem. As a homeowner, complete your maintenance checks to detect when you need to call a plumber for help. Homeowner checks can consist of:

  • Checking for links under sinks
  • Checking for leaks around toilets
  • Checking the shut-off valves to ensure they can turn easily
  • Be aware of the condition of the water heater
  • Insulate exposed pipes that could freeze in cold temperatures
  • Be cognizant of what is put down drains
  • Clean the showerhead
  • Clean drains

Plumbing FAQs

What routine maintenance should I be doing for my Las Vegas water heater?

To keep your water heater running smoothly in Las Vegas, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.

How do I know if I need a Las Vegas plumber for my home's low water pressure?

If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your Las Vegas home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in Las Vegas to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.

We work built relationships with several lenders to ensure our customers are able to restore functionality in their homes. Ask your technician about your financing options.

Are there plumbing upgrades that can help conserve water in my Las Vegas home?

Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your Las Vegas home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.

What are common plumbing issues in older Las Vegas homes?

Older homes in Las Vegas often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.

What should I do to prepare my plumbing for winter in Las Vegas?

To get your plumbing ready for winter in Las Vegas, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.

How can I tell if my sewer line is damaged in Las Vegas?

Signs of a damaged sewer line in your NV home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
