Lloyd Robert Pfeffer

You guys were great! But then again, you always are. The installation went well, and we love our new toilet. When everything was done, the place was left clean.

John Sosnowski

Ben Franklin responded to my problem in a timely way. Eric and his associate were wonderful and resolved the problem in a professional manner. I am always pleased with Ben Franklin's service. Well done!

Allen Grant

Highly recommend!! Had another issue happen but Austin Smith come to the rescue the next day. Quick and efficient explained everything in detail. Outstanding job!

Steve Goulet

Austin with Ben Franklin installed a new electric water heater at our island condo. He disconnected the old unit, returned it for warranty from Lowes, transported the new unit and installed the new unit with a new pan and expansion tank. He was clean, courteous and very informative. The new tank is installed and looks so much cleaner than the old tank. I recommend Ben Franklin and Austin for your plumbing needs. Part 2: Ben Franklin came out for a secondary issue, and I couldn’t be happier with their follow-through and making sure everything was installed properly. Aaron was the lead plumber, and with him he had an electrician from the sister company, Mr. Sparky. Both of them worked together seamlessly together to fix my issues. Kudos also go out to Josh, the regional manager, who made sure all work was completed correctly Ben Franklin stands behind their work, and I highly recommend them for plumbing and electrical work.

Chris Applegate arrived at my house about 20 min after calling the company to get someone out. Fastest response time I have ever had from anyone. Chris was respectful and knowledgeable and was able to over come some construction flaws from how the house was built. I will be calling Benjamin Franklin first from now on.

Plumbing FAQs

What routine maintenance should I be doing for my Wilmington NC water heater?

To keep your water heater running smoothly in Wilmington NC, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.

How do I know if I need a Wilmington NC plumber for my home's low water pressure?

If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your Wilmington NC home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in Wilmington NC to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.

Are there plumbing upgrades that can help conserve water in my Wilmington NC home?

Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your Wilmington NC home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.

What are common plumbing issues in older Wilmington NC homes?

Older homes in Wilmington NC often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.

What should I do to prepare my plumbing for winter in Wilmington NC?

To get your plumbing ready for winter in Wilmington NC, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.

How can I tell if my sewer line is damaged in Wilmington NC?

Signs of a damaged sewer line in your NC home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
