In general, customer service is a dying breed, but not the service technicians at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. I wanted to surprise my wife with a water softener for Christmas. I knew from my previous interactions with lead technician, Francisco Vega that I would not be disappointed. Francisco came to my residence a week before Christmas to make arrangements for the installation. He and his colleague, Joseph, arrived promptly at the time agreed upon (the day after Christmas) to do the install. The entire installation took about five hours, but it was as seamless as possible. Upon completion of the install, Francisco answered all questions we had and gave us the peace of mind that we had made a great investment. I can confirm that the soft water feels great on our skin and the reverse osmosis water (also installed as part of the package) tastes amazing! Hats off to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, but mostly to the quality technicians they employ.

To keep your water heater running smoothly in Farmingdale, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.
If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your Farmingdale home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in Farmingdale to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.
We are available 24/7 to take your call for emergencies. Our appointment hours are listed above.

Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your Farmingdale home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.
Older homes in Farmingdale often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.
To get your plumbing ready for winter in Farmingdale, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.
Signs of a damaged sewer line in your home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
