Rick

Hector did a fantastic job! Replaced all copper lines, replaced all shut off valves, rerouted a few lines that were not in code, replaced main shut off valve coming in from the street, replaced kitchen faucet, installed a new garbage disposal unit. The list goes on! Now we have peace of mind with no worries on plumbing issues. GREAT JOB!!!

Debbie

Dan F. did a great job installing a new water line, new shut off valves, heat tape, & pipe insulation on my mobile home. When he came out to give me the estimate, he showed me the water line and the connections & explained things in detail (so that I could understand) and pointed out potential problems that could easily be handled during the project. He gave me two estimates. One for the basic installation of the Heat Tape & One to additionally fix the potential problems. I really appreciated that. He seemed very knowledgeable, he understood my concerns, and I felt like I could trust him by his demeaner and the way he was explaining everything to me. He helped me with the financing, which was super easy & I was approved in minutes. He was also very respectful, wearing the booties to enter my home and cleaning up everything. It was a very good experience. I feel so much better now that my home is ready for the cold weather. I will definitely call them again if I need anything. Thank you Dan ! I really appreciate everything you did !

Crew was very knowledgeable and courteous. I am very pleased with the work and how promptly it was done The guy that showed up at my house to give us the estimate and did the work I wanted to add his name Peyton Job well done. There was a problem with the ground, sinking in huge Sinkholes I called them nobody ever called me back so I called again. Somebody said they would return my call still to this day. No phone call. I would not recommend using this company ever again. They do great work but when something’s wrong, they don’t wanna fix what’s wrong or even call you back

Matthew Stover was our plumbing technician today. Matthew was very prompt in his arrival and did not waste any time in asking what problem we were having. I explained to Matthew that we were dealing with bad heat tape. The first thing he did was to inspect our heat tape and came back into our home to explain the problem that was going on. Matthew gave us two options on how he could perform the job along with the cost of each option. After we made our decision we signed to authorize the work to be done and made financial arrangements. Matthew went straight to work and worked steady until he was done, cleaned up after himself and closed the entrance to under our house. He came back into the house informed us that the work was done, told us that our financial arrangements have been accepted and said his good byes. Reminding us should we need the services of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing to just call. I highly recommend Matthew Stover and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for any plumbing work you would have. I have found all their technicians to be well trained, professional and friendly. I do find Benjamin Franklin Plumbing to be a bit expensive, but they do good work and stand behind the work that they do.

Received excellent service with unclogging our shower drain. Service tech Jeremy Kreiser worked hard and cleared the clog in our single bathroom which was a huge relieve for our family. He was professional and explained everything. I really appreciate his work and would recommend him to others if any services are needed.

Plumbing FAQs

What routine maintenance should I be doing for my Lancaster water heater?

To keep your water heater running smoothly in Lancaster, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.

How do I know if I need a Lancaster plumber for my home's low water pressure?

If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your Lancaster home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in Lancaster to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.

Are there plumbing upgrades that can help conserve water in my Lancaster home?

Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your Lancaster home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.

What are common plumbing issues in older Lancaster homes?

Older homes in Lancaster often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.

What should I do to prepare my plumbing for winter in Lancaster?

To get your plumbing ready for winter in Lancaster, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.

How can I tell if my sewer line is damaged in Lancaster?

Signs of a damaged sewer line in your PA home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
