Hard water doesn’t just feel rough on your skin. It quietly wears down everything it touches. Over time, it clogs up your pipes, coats your fixtures, and shortens the life of your water-using appliances. Fortunately, a professionally installed water softener can stop all that damage in its tracks.
Here’s what you’ll notice after installation:
It’s one of those upgrades you’ll feel every single day and wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.
Hard water might sound harmless, but it quietly causes a lot of frustration in homes across Torrance. It’s water that’s high in minerals, mainly calcium and magnesium, that get picked up as it flows through soil and rock before reaching your tap.
The result? Those minerals build up in your pipes, appliances, and fixtures. Over time, that buildup causes:

We scheduled an appointment online on the Friday after Thanksgiving and received a call back right away. The representative explained the cost for a last‑minute Friday visit, but we decided to book for Monday instead. She also provided suggestions in the meantime concerning the leak. On Monday, the team arrived during the timeframe discussed with my husband which was around 10am, inspected the house, and explained their plan before starting the work. They replaced all of our copper pipes and had everything completed by 5 p.m. Before leaving, they carefully inspected their work, checked all the water lines, and made sure everything was functioning. The communication was clear, the work was thorough, and the professionalism great. Overall, we’re very satisfied with the service and would recommend them to anyone needing plumbing work done.

Great company and service!!!!. We started having trouble with our hot water- we inherited this tankless water heater- and it took some time for us to diagnose the problem. However, once we got in touch with Benjamin Franklin plumbing, they were phenomenal. Great communication, super quick response time, And they come service on the weekends! Brock was professional, kind and super helpful! He diagnosed the problem and ran through several options, before helping us navigate and make a plan. Matt was also great, he was professional, communicative, friendly and efficient. Both gentlemen resolved what could have been a much bigger problem with ease and efficiency. 10/10 would recommend to anyone

Thank you, for coming on out and helping me with this issue. I have been having issues with my property management on handling this and it has created some problems with my COPD. U came out same day and started to get the job done one that same day. I truly am grateful and will recommend you to everyone I know with any plumbing issues One happy customer

Overall I think Matt and Daunte did a great job. They were friendly and got everything setup in quick order. My only complaint was about the price of the job. They informed of the price when they were here and were upfront about it but I do think the company over charges for the a fairly simple project. Which is not the employees fault.

He arrived on time, quickly identified the problem part, explained what needed to be done, accomplished the task, and problem solved. It was like pressing the easy button, and I will definitely be calling again for any future plumbing issues. Matthew Tacia was here today and did excellent work, as always. I’m so happy to have this company as our go to plumbing company. It is not always easy to find companies you can trust and do high quality work. Matthew did a thorough cleaning of our sump pump, and fixed some pipe work for us. I’m glad he was here, because he also found a leak I hadn’t noticed until he pointed it out. He also cleaned out a drain we needed taken care of. I can always count on everything being cleaned up after the work is done as well. We recommended this company to friends of ours from church, and they were also very happy with Josh, who did the work for them.
To keep your water heater running smoothly in Torrance, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.
If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your Torrance home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in Torrance to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.
We are available 24/7 to take your call for emergencies. Our appointment hours are listed above.

Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your Torrance home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.
Older homes in Torrance often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.
To get your plumbing ready for winter in Torrance, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.
Signs of a damaged sewer line in your home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
