Andover's history is one of reinvention, a town that has changed its name, grown from open prairie, and built itself into one of the most desirable communities in the Wichita metro.

The area was first settled in the late 1860s, with Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Waggoner among the earliest landowners, purchasing their plot in February 1876. The community that formed around them went through several identities before finding its permanent name. First known as Minneha, then platted as Cloud City by Charles Glancey in February 1880, and finally renamed

Andover that same June. Early residents were served by the St. Louis-San Francisco Railroad, and the town's first post office opened alongside the new name. The United Methodist Church, established in 1873, was already anchoring the community before the town even had its final identity.

Andover was incorporated on February 4, 1957, with Hugo Epp stepping in as the city's first mayor. From those modest beginnings, a handful of settlers, a railroad stop, and a post office, Andover has grown into a thriving city of over 14,000 residents. Today it's home to a full network of parks including Andover Central Park, Andover Heights Mini Park, and the 13th Street Sports Park, along with two golf courses, active shopping, and beloved community events like the Andover Spring Festival and Greater Andover Days every year.

Both Ilija and Dylan were great! Ilija first came as we did not have hot water. He handled that problem efficiently and then checked all 4 bathrooms, kitchen and laundry room. Ilija identified quite a number of items that needed replacement and since our home is older it was very good to be made aware of those issues. Dylan then came a couple of days later and fixed all of the problems in one day! He worked all day and did an excellent job while treating our home with respect and went above and beyond to help us. We had a water leak; Ben Franklin responded quickly and repaired the leak on February 2, 2026. The 1st technician noticed a few other areas of concern. This being are secondary home, we thought it a good idea to have these issues addressed. We scheduled the balance of the repairs to be completed on another date.
