My midtown LR home was built in 1961 with ‘Orangeburg’ water and sewer lines. The lines were failing from age and tree roots and the only fix was to replace them. I’m on a corner property and the orangeburg mains run under a concrete porch, stairs, wall, and driveway. I hired Contractor McRae Construction who worked with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Greater LR (BFP) to replace the mains. My experience with BFP was excellent. From start to finish, we were advised of the timeline and progress of the project. BFP’s crew completed their work in 2 days. They arrived on time, worked carefully and expertly, operated a huge backhoe right outside by porch door, filed the necessary permits and their part of the LR Water Mgmt Authority reimbursement application, and cordoned off the digging area by the street for safety. The cleanup was efficient and complete. BFP’s Justin Messenger worked on site managing the project and addressing any questions. They finished the job as promised in 2 days and left the property clean and ready for McRae Construction who expertly rebuilt the retaining wall, a French drain, stairs, porch and driveway. The job is done and I highly recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Greater LR and McRae Construction for big projects! They were fairly priced (I had several estimates), professional, clean, reliable, and attentive to details. BF Plumbing and McRae Construction worked seamlessly together to complete the project. This was a 5 Star experience!
The plumbers brought the correct disposal that I ordered. The plumbers were courteous and friendly. All additional parts were included. Installation was efficient and professional. I’m happy with the service. I recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. I will use them again.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I couldn’t be more impressed with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. From start to finish, the entire process was smooth, professional, and well-organized. The estimate was clear, scheduling was easy, communication was consistent, and the finished work was excellent. This company clearly takes pride in what they do, and it shows. Once the work started, the technicians really sealed the deal for me. Every one of them was courteous, knowledgeable, and respectful of my home. Matt Thrift stood out in particular — his customer service was top-tier. At one point, I asked if he did side work, and without hesitation, he said no — he’s committed to the company. That kind of integrity says a lot about the people they hire and the culture they’ve built. The only negative part of the experience wasn’t with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, but with the financing company they use. I received a call asking if the company charged me extra for financing — which felt inappropriate and unprofessional. It raised unnecessary doubt and made me question their intentions. I really hope the owners see this and consider that kind of behavior from their financing partner can hurt customer trust. Still, the service from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was truly exceptional. I’m a very happy customer and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
I was notified by text that Kordell was arriving soon (right on time) and was able to track his progress through a link in the text. He very quickly fixed our issue. The price was a very pleasant surprise. I will absolutely use this company again!
