Four Types of Home Faucets for Faucet Installation

If you need to have a faucet installed, it is important to hire an experienced plumber. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of Dallas knows faucets and can help with all your faucet installation and repair needs. There are four types of commonly available home faucets.

 1.  Disc Faucets

Ceramic disc faucets represent the most recent innovation in faucet technology. They have one handle and a large cylinder-shaped body.  Temperature is set by moving the handle from side to side. These faucets are known for their reliability and maybe a good choice if you need faucet installation.

 2.  Ball Faucets

Ball Facets are frequently found in kitchen sinks.  They are the earliest version of the washerless faucet. They have one handle and an interior multi-chamber metal ball that regulates water flow and temperate. Our plumbers can help with faucet installation.

 3.  Cartridge Faucets

Cartridge faucets are available in single and double handle models. In the single-handled version, the lever is pushed up and down to regulate water flow and it is pushed left or right to set the temperature.  Double handled cartridge faucets are very similar to compression faucets.

4.  Compression Faucets

Compression faucets are the oldest type of faucets in use. These double-handled faucets have been available since the existence of indoor plumbing and are frequently found in older homes. You may find a compression faucet in the utility sink of a new house.
