Both Dave and Cody did exceptional work in identifying my plumbing issues and fixing them for me. They were both on time, personable, and a pleasure to work with. They helped take the sting out of a big plumwater bill! Thanks guys! Update: After leaving my house, everything was fine, however it is now the next day and there is no water in my kitchen! I called thinking it's probably an easy fix, and they tell me they can't come out till Tuesday! I understand bad weather is approaching, but I'm paying almost $2000.00 for this, and now I have no water in my kitchen for at least 4 days?!? Suddenly emptying a pan of water catching water under the kitchen sink isn't looking so bad! Not happy!

Ryan was very competent and thorough. Although all I really wanted was my toilet to work again he made some very good observations throughout my house of things needing work. He presented pros and cons and didn't feel overly pressured to do anything. His work was done right away and he left no mess. I will definitely call him in the future.

The crew at Ben Franklin responded quickly to our situation and presented us with options to fix the problem of excessive rust deposits entering the house in sinks and toilets. The returned within 48 hours and installed two filters to our system. The plumber, Mingmar, was very nice, explained everything he was going to do and finished the job in less than 4 hours. Thank you, Ben Franklin!

Our experience was awesome with Mr JD Workman, Mr Luke , Mr Trey. They did a great job on our home. Workmanship was excellent and they explained what they were doing. The cost was very reasonable we found. More than $2300 lest then the other quote. Found a good plumbing company to do future work we may need!!! They cleaned up after themselves and put all the paneling they removed back. They were very polite. Miss Heather was very polite and helped us out with the pex piping of our house. We rated them 5 stars because they were!!!! Thanks for fantastic job!!!!

My water heater stopped working on Wednesday morning and I didn't realize that until 7pm that night. I contacted Benjamin Franklin responded and they presponded instantly. We scheduled an appointment over text (which is really cool) for 9 am next morning. Then I realized I got some leaking from my kitchen ceiling (through the light hole) and I freaked out and texted them again. Adam was incredibly helpful and patient. He walked me through shutting the water heater off step by step through a mix of calls and pics. Then Sebastian and Adam showed up on time next morning and did a great job. This will be my to-go place for any plumbing issues too. Also, the price was very reasonable. Thank you guys!

Initially called for a sewage smell in my house that’s been going on for a long time and getting worse. During technician’s assessment he determined that our pipes were not in code and needed to be replaced. He was a hard worker and stayed on task. He did find the source of the smell and fixed it.The job took 2 days plus a 3rd day to come back to fix some of his work after inspected by his supervisor. During that visit one of the fixes unfortunately caused a gap in the tub as seen in attached picture. I’m giving a 4 star because he usually came 1.5 hours or more after the time he told us he would come. One day he didn’t come at all or call. Again, our problem was fixed and he took care of an extra request, but dependability was lacking.

I'm very pleased with the recent services I received from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. They were prompt to not only provide a full inspection of the plumbing on a recent house I purchased here in Richlands but quick to schedule an appointment to have the Hot Water Heater replaced. The Tech was knowledgeable and professional and did an extremely clean and detailed job. I highly recommend them for any plumbing needs.

To keep your water heater running smoothly in Charleston, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.
If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your Charleston home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in Charleston to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.
We are available 24/7 to take your call for emergencies. Our appointment hours are listed above.

Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your Charleston home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.
Older homes in Charleston often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.
To get your plumbing ready for winter in Charleston, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.
Signs of a damaged sewer line in your SC home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
