John Owens Jr was born on July 22, 1947 in Chester, South Carolina. John is the eldest son of 7 brothers and sisters. John grew up in Greenville, SC. John moved to North Augusta in 1967. John met Stella and they married in April 1976. They blended there families together. They have four children, Sheila, Don, John, and Lisa. John started his plumbing career in 1967 under the tutelage of Master Plumber Charlie Owings of North Augusta, South Carolina. During the next 12 years of apprenticeship Mr. Owens plumbed 100’s of residential homes and became an expert at construction plumbing. He became licensed as Tradesman in the state of Georgia and South Carolina as a journeyman plumber in 1975.

?Mr. Owens continued his practice of the plumbing trade spending an additional 5 years learning the repair side of the industry. Under the training and guidance of Wayne Kimball, Master Plumber of Aiken, South Carolina, he learned how to repair any plumbing problem associated with a person’s home, from the smallest leak to entire drainage systems. John attended Aiken Technical College for two years. He was certified by the state of Georgia and South Carolina as a Master Plumber in 1984. He is past president of the Aiken Licensed Plumbers Association; and has been a member of the Presidents Club, and the Masters Council.

Lisa was born in Augusta, Georgia on May 25, 1976.  She attended North AugustaElementary School and North Augusta Middle School.  In 1994 she graduated from NorthAugusta High School.  After attending Aiken Technical College majoring in Business and Management, she moved to Texas.  She returned to North Augusta in 1997. In 1998 Lisa joined Rest Master Bedding Co a local bedding manufacturer that delivers to Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.  Over the next three years she helped answer the phones, take bedding orders, helped with human resources, and working in all office departments as needed.  Using the tools that she learned from college and the training at Rest Master Bedding, she joined the Owens Plumbing Team in 2001.  In May 2003 her first son, Jordan, was born. 

?Motherhood has been a wonderful experience for her.  In April 2006 Lisa married her best friend and high school sweetheart, Sean Smith.  They have blended their family together with two sons and one daughter.  Sean and Lisa wanted to add to there already amazing family so on October 4, 2007 Lisa and Sean welcomed there newest son, Sean Jr.  On November 19, 2012 they welcomed a daughter Savanna. Sean and Lisa have a total of five kids.  Lisa works in the Human Resources Department, Accounting Department, Receivables /Payables Department, and Customer Service Department. Lisa has trained at Success Academy, in St. Louis, Missouri, in Accounting, Client Care, Customer Service, Dispatching, and the Professional Plumber.

Theadore always wanted to know how things worked, and when they didn’t how do you fix them. At 16 he started to prepare for his future and look for a job working in the plumbing and building industries. He started working for Andy’s Hardware and Building Center and over the next 3 years learned as much as he could about materials used in construction. Theadore just turned 19 when Owens Plumbing Company offered him a position in the entry training program. He completed the training course and started to run his own truck. Theadore got married to Bethany in March 2002. They welcomed twin daughters, Emily and Sarah, in December 2005. Theadore and Bethany are very active in there church. In his free time Theadore likes to spend it with his family, playing music, or going to the gym.

Theadore’s motivation has helped him to invest in his future. In 2001 he obtained his commercial and residential sewage management license and his installer’s license. This license allows him to install, repair, and maintenance residential and commercial septic systems and grease traps. During 2004/2005 his certification for TracPipe and Wardflex; this allows him to install stainless steel gas lines in Georgia and South Carolina.

In 2006, Theadore obtained his Georgia Plumbing License also in 2006 he was certified in septic pumping, Georgia and South Carolina Backflow Preventer license in 2007. He also has attended and completed the South Carolina Business Law and Management exam, proper water heater maintenance, onsite sewage management. South Carolina Contractor and South Carolina residential and commercial exam which helped him to obtain his South Carolina residential and commercial plumbing license. Theadore has been with Owens Plumbing since April 1999. Theadore has won many awards and has been recognized in the top 5 technicians of all the Benjamin Franklin Plumbing Companies all over the nation 5 times. He is a member in good standing with Georgia Plumbers trade associations, and Georgia onsite Waste and Water Association.

Theodore says “It is hard to believe just how much I have learned in the 15 years at Owens Plumbing Company. I made it my goal when I started no matter what to end each day better than it began and be a better plumber today than I was yesterday.”

Monica joined our team in 2017.  She has proven to be a wonderful addition to our work family. She is dedicated and shows up everyday to help all our customers. 

Jordan joined our team right after High School Graduation.  He had interned here the summer before his Senior Year.  He decided right then he wanted to be a plumber.  He has been with the company 2 years now and we are so grateful for him.  He is driven and motivated. Â

Tristan has been in plumbing for many years before he joined us in 2023.  We are very excited to have him as one of our trusted team members.  Tristan and his wife, have three daughters and are about to welcome a new family member.
