Don’t Delay with Water Line Repair

Every day we seem to take advantage of the fresh, clean water right at our fingertips every time we turn on the faucet. We use this pristine water for bathing, cooking, washing, and drinking and it’s brought right to us through a water supply line from the street, under our property, and into our home. It can work perfectly for years- even decades, but as with anything, the time may come to where our Houston home’s water line needs repair.

A broken water line causing flooding

Some signs you may have a leak in your water line are drop in pressure, discoloring of the water, or a constant wet spot in your yard. If this is the case, call your local Benjamin Franklin Plumbing® of Rosenberg to conduct an inspection for a potential water line repair. The hard part in locating the place of the leak is that water travels, so even if there is water in front of your home doesn’t mean that your property has the leak. Listen to the water line at the point where the pipe enters into your home, it is usually close to your water meter. Make sure no one in the house is using water in the house and there are no washers running. Then listen to the pipe as it should be silent. If there is any vibration or a rumbling noise in the pipe, there is a strong chance your water main is, in fact, leaking somewhere and needs repair.

Do not hesitate to call us at (281) 616-3978 to check things out. It is far more cost-efficient to have a water line repair than have to replace the entire line. Also, you don’t want to put it off, hoping for it to just go away. Leaks don’t get better. They only get worse. Taking care of the problem right away will help you get the service you need when you need it.
