Gary Rosen

Excellent communication and professionalism. Came within hours of call and fully explained the issue and fixed the problem on the spot. If you have a plumbing problem, ask for Josh - he will take care of you. Replaced the overflow tank before it became a serious problem

Stacy Taylor

Israel Romero was a very professional technician ! I enjoyed his company while he replaced a 40 yr old outdoor faucet and a new valve inside our laundry room which was causing the outdoor faucet to leak! He did however have to cut into our wall in order to remove the outdoor faucet! He was able to cover the wall with the access panel for the meantime! I would definitely recommend Benjamin Franklin plumbing for your plumbing needs!

David was a true life saver!!! Our well pump wiring was a goner and he replaced the pressure switch in our basement. He came out promptly, he diagnosed the issue and let us know pricing upfront. David is very knowledgeable and thorough with his job, he made sure things are up and running before we sign off on a job well done. Added bonus he has a great personality.

Carl Latham

Chris did a fantastic job. He was very professional and very personable. It was a pleasure having him here to install my new faucet and adjust height of hot water valve for accessibility.

Alex Gelfand

Israel was very helpful with helping snake out a clog in our sewer line. I subtracted one star due to them not cleaning up the waste which came from the sewer line and then charging me over $1000, which I called around and found other vendors offering to do it for less. Would I call them again if I was in a bind and couldn’t get anyone out here on time? Perhaps. But, they wouldn’t be my first call due to pricing.

Plumbing FAQs

What routine maintenance should I be doing for my Gaithersburg water heater?

To keep your water heater running smoothly in Gaithersburg, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.

How do I know if I need a Gaithersburg plumber for my home's low water pressure?

If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your Gaithersburg home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in Gaithersburg to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.

We work built relationships with several lenders to ensure our customers are able to restore functionality in their homes. Ask your technician about your financing options.

Are there plumbing upgrades that can help conserve water in my Gaithersburg home?

Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your Gaithersburg home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.

What are common plumbing issues in older Gaithersburg homes?

Older homes in Gaithersburg often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.

What should I do to prepare my plumbing for winter in Gaithersburg?

To get your plumbing ready for winter in Gaithersburg, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.

How can I tell if my sewer line is damaged in Gaithersburg?

Signs of a damaged sewer line in your MD home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
