Chad Derexson’s path to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing has taken him through a few different places. Born in Germany and raised as a military brat, he spent time living in Colorado, Korea, and many other places before putting down roots in Maryland.

His career in the trades started during his time in the Army, where he worked in pipefitting and steamfitting. After leaving the military, he spent a summer working in new construction before joining what was then Keys Plumbing & Heating.

That was nearly 27 years ago.

Over the years, Chad has grown with the company and now serves as our Field Supervisor.. When asked what has kept him here for so long, his answer was simple: “It’s been good to me and my family. So, there’s no reason for me to leave.”

That relationship has gone both ways. During some difficult personal health challenges and multiple surgeries, Chad says the company and his coworkers stood by him and his family. For him, that support is one of the things that makes being part of this team special.

It’s a perspective Chad carries with him as a supervisor today. After so many years with the company, he knows the value of having people around you who are willing to support you when you need it, both on and off the job.

From his time in the Army to nearly three decades with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, Chad has built a career around the trades and the people he works alongside. We’re grateful for the experience, loyalty, and perspective he brings to the team every day. 💙
