Jonathan Pack

We had an absolutely excellent experience with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing when they repaired our leaking hot water heater recently! Our initial experience with their technician, David Laboskie, was amazing! He was thorough in his examination of our tankless hot water heater, explained what was wrong and what was leaking, and was able to confirm that our unit could be rebuilt instead of replaced. We had multiple quotes from other plumbing companies that only offered to replace the unit, not a single other one would even attempt a repair. David handled contacting the manufacturer to check the warranty on the parts and the unit, and even worked with them to get the parts ordered and shipped right to our door. He was incredibly personable, and we really enjoyed having him over! Then, we had an equally great experience with our second technician, Jerry Guccione, who actually performed the rebuild on the water heater. He and his assistant were very personable, as well as quick and thorough in their installation and testing! We have not had a single issue with the hot water system since!! To say that we were blown away by the service we got is an understatement, and we are definitely going to continue to take our plumbing business to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for the foreseeable future! Thank you to everyone at Benjamin Franklin for working with us, saving us money, and getting this problem resolved quickly and with a smile!!

Ira Miller was the technician that responded to my request. Man was timely, courteous, professional, efficient, communicative, and honestly a good time. Not only did he fix my issue, but gave me different options and explained the pros and cons to each. Then as a courtesy inspected the rest of my water system to make me aware of other things that might pop up in the future, just to make sure I was aware of signs of “impending doom” (my words, not his). Would recommend.

Israel was awesome. I called he was at my house with a hour. He didn’t have parts so he sourced them and made the repairs all within 5 hours of my call. Definitely will only use Benjamin Franklin Plumbing moving forward.

Plumbing FAQs

What routine maintenance should I be doing for my Frederick water heater?

To keep your water heater running smoothly in Frederick, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.

How do I know if I need a Frederick plumber for my home's low water pressure?

If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your Frederick home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in Frederick to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.

Are there plumbing upgrades that can help conserve water in my Frederick home?

Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your Frederick home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.

What are common plumbing issues in older Frederick homes?

Older homes in Frederick often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.

What should I do to prepare my plumbing for winter in Frederick?

To get your plumbing ready for winter in Frederick, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.

How can I tell if my sewer line is damaged in Frederick?

Signs of a damaged sewer line in your MD home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
