Mary Bailey

I have used Benjamin Franklin Plumbing twice so far. Sean McDonough was the Plummer both time. First time I called he came the same day. The next time I called, he came the day after I called. He explained what I needed, showed me different options and prices. After the work was completed, he not only showed me what he did, but also explained everything he did. He was very professional and knowledgeable. The service was exceptional both time. I am well pleased and will be using them in the future if need arises.

Emmanuel Kanu

Grayson Jeffers was very knowledgeable and professional. Did a great assessment and evaluation of the entire problem and everything that was going on. He also explained everything very thoroughly and helped me understand everything fully before starting the job. Completed the work in a timely manner and solved all the issues that I was having. 5 stars across the board, I definitely would recommend him to everyone who has plumbing concerns.

Christopher Maldonado

Sean was great. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He was able to explain the problems I was experiencing and the repairs he recommended to me at an elementary level, which I needed. Great customer service and people skills. Sean is definitely the guy I’m asking for next time.

Holly Heverly

Sean was very professional and personable . Arrived within the expected time. Kitchen sink was leaking around the drain. Explained what the best practice for repair was prior to completing the task. Was efficient and thoroughly cleaned up after himself. The cost was comparable to other plumbers. The company offers a 2 year guarantee on their service which is excellent.

Patrick Preece

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a great experience with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing here in Dover! Setting up the service was super easy and they were able to send someone out the very next day, which was awesome. The communication was top-notch—we got text updates letting us know exactly when Sean would arrive, which made the whole process stress-free. Sean was fantastic. His prices were very reasonable, and you could tell right away he really knew his stuff. He got two of our toilets fixed in about half an hour and, even better, he walked us through what to do moving forward so we don’t run into the same problems again. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and never made us feel rushed. It’s rare these days to find someone who is quick, professional, and also takes the time to make sure you feel taken care of. We’ll definitely be calling Sean and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing again whenever we need work done, and I’d recommend them to anyone looking for reliable residential plumbing.

Plumbing FAQs

What routine maintenance should I be doing for my Dover water heater?

To keep your water heater running smoothly in Dover, it’s a good idea to flush the tank once a year to clear out sediment, especially if your area has hard water. Check the pressure relief valve, inspect for rust or leaks, and make sure the thermostat is set to a safe temperature (usually around 120°F). Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your unit and keeps your hot water flowing efficiently. For peace of mind, consider scheduling a professional inspection with a local plumber.

How do I know if I need a Dover plumber for my home's low water pressure?

If your water pressure suddenly drops or only affects certain fixtures in your Dover home, it could be a sign of a clogged pipe, leak, or a problem with your water supply. Try cleaning faucet aerators first, but if the issue persists, it’s best to call a licensed plumber in Dover to diagnose and fix the problem before it gets worse.

We work built relationships with several lenders to ensure our customers are able to restore functionality in their homes. Ask your technician about your financing options.

Are there plumbing upgrades that can help conserve water in my Dover home?

Yes! Upgrading to low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads, and high-efficiency faucets can significantly reduce water use in your Dover home. You can also install smart leak detectors and tankless water heaters for added efficiency. A local plumber can recommend the best options based on your home’s setup and water usage habits.

What are common plumbing issues in older Dover homes?

Older homes in Dover often face plumbing issues like corroded or outdated pipes, low water pressure, and frequent leaks. You might also encounter problems with old fixtures, sewer line deterioration, or poor drainage. A professional inspection can help identify hidden issues and recommend upgrades to keep your plumbing system safe and efficient.

What should I do to prepare my plumbing for winter in Dover?

To get your plumbing ready for winter in Dover, start by insulating exposed pipes, especially in unheated areas like basements and garages. Disconnect outdoor hoses, shut off exterior water lines, and check your water heater for optimal performance. It’s also smart to know where your main shut-off valve is in case of a frozen pipe emergency.

How can I tell if my sewer line is damaged in Dover?

Signs of a damaged sewer line in your DE home include frequent drain clogs, foul odors, soggy spots in your yard, and gurgling sounds from your toilets or drains.
